New Cover Art - Wild Fragile Vines

Thanks to the cold that my daughter came down with over the weekend, I'm sicker than a dog right now. I spent half of yesterday with a fever of 100F, I woke up at 2:30 this morning and have yet to get back to sleep over six hours later, and I'm going in slow motion until the crash I'm sure is coming.

But there's been one bright spot already this morning. New cover art!

This is my contribution to the Second Time Around pax coming out at Amber Allure next month. It's an epistolary story, which is one of my favorite styles. It's been far too long since I've written one, so I was overdue.

Cover Art - Silences of Fallen Stars

I have more cover art to share! My April release, Silences of Fallen Stars, is part of the 60s pax at Amber Allure. It's the story of two high school best friends reconnecting when the Vietnam war and life have come between them. I love how moody the cover turned out!

Release date on this is April 19. More details as we get closer!

Cover Art - One More Bloom

I've been contributing short stories for Kallysten's breast cancer charity anthology the past couple years. Since the rights revert back to us after the the charity drive is over, I've been sitting on these two tales for a little while, trying to figure out what to do with them. I've decided I'll expand the one from 2014, but the 2013 het interracial paranormal, One More Bloom, will be available as a free story at Amber Quill later this month.

In the meantime, I have a cover for it. Since it spans over a hundred years, it's hard to find a single image or setting for it. However, it starts and ends with the cherry blossom festival in DC, hence...

New Cover - Against a Wounded Landscape

That was fast! I already have the cover art for January release, "Against a Wounded Landscape."

That's Sir Tanash, the knight in my fantasy story. He sets off to rescue the kidnapped son of his king in an attempt to help bring prosperity back to the kingdom and discovers a lot more than he expected.

This is my story for the General Hospital pax at Amber Allure, a story set in a futuristic Bay Area about lovers reuniting. Reunions have been a big theme for me lately, with more still to come. I haven't quite figured out why.

Cover Reveal - Placeless

In October, Placeless, the second of the Bay Wolves series comes out. It's the story of Keaton McGrath, one of the wolves rescued in Boundless, and how he's adjusting to life in San Francisco. As of this weekend, I officially have a cover!

That smiley fella you see is not the troubled Keaton, but instead wolf activist Scotty who ends up helping to teach Keaton that a wolf is stronger when he's not alone. I love how Scotty's hopeful, optimistic nature counters Keaton's more melancholy ways. I'm really looking forward to sharing their story when it comes out!

New Cover Art - What the Heart Thinks

We are back from Las Vegas, which means catching up on everything. One of the surprises in my email this morning? The cover art for my April pax release, What the Heart Thinks.

Those are my two guys to a T. It's a romcom of sorts, about a radio DJ and an actor/stripper who meet at a bachelorette party. Here's the blurb:

On a scale of one to ten, DJ Joe Salinas considers himself a four, five on a good day. Actor/part-time stripper Fess Kedley is definitely a nine, however, though Joe’s pretty sure that slides into a ten as soon as the clothes come off. So when the outgoing Fess recognizes a shy Joe at a bachelorette party from his midnight radio show and proceeds to ask him out, Joe turns him down, convinced he’s either crazy or stupid.

The only problem is, Fess takes rejection as reason to keep on trying.

The two become unexpected friends, so when the thought of trying a date comes up again, Joe decides to take a chance. Though he doesn’t understand what someone like Fess would see in someone like him, it’s hard to say no when everything else feels so right.

Isn't it stunning? I just love it to pieces. I seem destined to have a lot of silvery/bluish toned covers, but when they're as pretty as this one, it's hard to complain.

Remember that new series I was telling you about a couple days ago? I thought I wouldn't be talking about it again until next week, but I was wrong. I got cover art to share with you today.

I love how moody it is, and the angularity of the title font since it's a vampire story. That's my vamp on the cover, by the way. His name's Sutter. Pretty, right? No wonder Max falls for him so hard.

One of the emails I got to come back to was a wonderful one from Trace Zaber at Amber Quill Press. What was it? New cover art! Even more exciting is that it's the cover for Family Obligations, my collaboration with the amazing Rick Reed, and it couldn't be more perfect.

It's a short, but it's jam-packed with emotion, so much so that it still made me cry during the edits. It's scheduled to come out June 23, but as a taste for now, here's the blurb:

On April 21, the music-themed pax comes out at Amber Allure. My long novella, Aria of the Eclipse, is one of the five stories in it (and the only sci-fi, the other four are contemporaries). Yesterday, I got my cover art:

Simply put, I love it. It's got the sci-fi feel to it, that would be my lovely Tylen on the right there, and its stark elegance really appeals to me.

The beginning of 2013 is going to be a busy one for me. I have three releases in the first two months. The first of these is on January 14 at Liquid Silver Books for my mostly sweet, m/m historical, "A Simple Charm."

Flitting from dusty town to dusty town, he loses himself in pretty dalliances. Levi seems like the perfect distraction, until a single conversation convinces him that preserving Levi’s innocence and way of life is more important than his momentary satisfaction.

However, his plan to discourage Levi goes horribly wrong. When Levi’s family is threatened, Levi fights to protect them, doing what he can to hide the secrets he’s sheltered his entire life. I spent most of the past two days recovering from my first appointment with a personal trainer (ohmigod, so sore, why haven't I ever used these muscles before?!?), so I'm keeping it a little brief today.

I'm just about done with my steampunk story, too, so you'll be hearing more about that early next week.

Though I have another appointment with the trainer on Monday. We'll see if I survive a second.

I got my cover art this week for my October m/m werewolf story. It's moody. I like. :)

Thomas Durling escaped his small-town upbringing for over ten years, until a single phone call drew him back. Told his mother has been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s, he returns to the small northern Michigan town he once called home to find a mute stranger taking care of her in his stead. On the surface, Andre seems harmless enough, but Thomas has enough problems trying to deal with his mother’s illness. He doesn’t need a gorgeous young man to distract him, especially in a town that drove him away once already with its homophobia.

But Andre has nowhere else to go. A wolf without a pack, he’s been on the run since witnessing his father’s murder, always looking over his shoulder, never looking ahead. Taking care of Thomas’s mother has given him a welcome sanctuary, as well as a place he can call home for a couple months. He wants to stay, but more importantly, he wants to help, even if Thomas isn’t ready to accept that they could actually be friends…
